Samsung Galaxy S24 Series Unveiling the Future of Smartphones with AI Integration and Cutting-Edge Features

According to the news of the launch of Samsung’s upcoming flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S24 series, we are just a month away. Evan Blass took to Twitter, or the platform now called X, to share a countdown set to the next Galaxy Unpacked. “Galaxy AI is coming,” says the countdown starting at 3 a.m. KST on January 18. That is, January 17 at 1 PM ET, as already stated. Blas has also shared the leaked spec sheet of all three devices, confirming earlier rumours.

According to the spec sheet, Samsung is again introducing three models. There’s the modest Galaxy S24, which has a 6.2-inch screen, then the S24 Plus, which expands to 6.7 inches, and the S24 Ultra, which has a screen size of 6.8 inches. It will all be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, Qualcomm’s latest flagship processor, but outside of the US, Canada, and China, the phones will be powered by Samsung’s own Exynos 2400, according to Rumors.

Looking at the camera, the S24 Ultra has a 200-megapixel main sensor (same as the S23 Ultra), while the S24 and S24 Plus have a 50-megapixel maximum. The S24 Ultra’s telephoto lens will zoom up to 10x, while the other two models can zoom up to 3x. Rumored camera specs include 10-megapixel telephoto sensors on the S24 and S24 Plus, and two telephoto lenses on the Ultra — a 50-megapixel one with 5x optical zoom (which can reportedly be cropped to 10x zoom) and The second is 10-megapixel with 3x optical zoom. According to the rumours, the three phones also have 12-megapixel ultrawide and 12-megapixel selfie cameras.

Regarding the battery, according to the leaked spec sheet the S24 has a capacity of 4,000mAh, the S24 Plus has a capacity of 4,900mAh, and the Ultra has a capacity of 5,000mAh. The range includes IP68 water and dust resistance, and the spec sheet confirms that the S24 Ultra will use titanium in its construction, instead of aluminum in the S24 and S24 Plus.

Images shared by Arsene Lupan on X show that the phones are available in multiple colors and can be viewed from all angles. The images of all three phones look very similar to the 2023 models, but according to the S24 Ultra, it will have a completely flat screen this time, not keeping the S23 Ultra’s gentle curves. Available colors include black, gray, purple, and yellow, but more colors can be found through Samsung’s own store.

Overall, in terms of hardware, it looks like it could be a sour year for Samsung’s flagship lineup. But on the software side, if the “Galaxy AI is coming” tease in Blas’ countdown timer is anything to go by, it could be pretty interesting. Last month, The Korea Times reported that Samsung’s generative AI model, called “Gauss,” may be integrated into the upcoming Galaxy S24 lineup and run on-device, using it to generate images. And can edit, compose emails, summarize documents, and help with coding. Samsung has also talked AI into translating phone calls in real time. These features could give Samsung an interesting edge against Google’s latest AI-infused Pixel.
